The History of S.E.D.A.S.
South Eastern Domestic Appliance Services
is a family run business in South
East Kent,
covering all of the CT Postcode area and now
TN23, TN24, TN25, TN26, TN27 and ME13.
Manufacturers trained engineer since
1971.
All manufacturers name and trade marks acknowledged.
I have been in
the business of domestic appliance repairs since 2nd December 1968
at which time a local electrical retailer in the Deal area employed me.
In 1971 I
attended my very first company training course run by Hoover and obtained a
certificate of competence.
In 1974-1976
I passed the Electrical installation course, 14th edition Parts A & B
qualifying me, as an approved electrician, this is of course not my line of
work, but gave me a much better insight to the principles of electricity as
to how and why electrical components may fail and more importantly fault finding.
1976 also saw
a change in direction, moving on to work for Electrolux Service {for over 20
years}! as their service engineer for Canterbury, Herne Bay, Whitstable and
Faversham area. In later years I was to become their Senior Engineer and
covered South London, East & West Kent, travelling as far as Sussex and
Surrey trouble shooting and working in the area office.
During the
period from 1976 - 1996 I gained more certificates and qualifications from the
manufacturer.
In October 1996 it had been decided due to a management reorganisational shake-up of the service division I was given the choice of redundancy. So I set up my own business, doing the work I know best as I have done for the last 32 years.
I am pleased to say that since Oct 1996 I have now over twelve thousand completed jobs to my credit.
